Faxed Waiver Form For Interview Release to Peace Corps

I faxed the waiver form I had to sign back to the social worker that interviewed me. The waiver form releases the information that the social worker collected during the interview to the Peace Corps. I will email her tomorrow to confirm that she got the waiver form.

Interview with Social Worker Regarding DUI

I had my interview with the social worker earlier today. The interview lasted about an hour to an hour and a half. It seemed like we went through my whole history with alcohol. I had the interview because I was arrested for a DUI when I was 17. We went through the circumstances behind the arrest. After going over the DUI we went through the amount of drinking I did through college, semester by semester. The interview was quite extensive. Let's just hope everything goes OK and I get my invitiation to the Peace Corps in the near future.

Email from Placement Officer

I received my first email from my placement officer. The email stated that I needed to be interviewed by a social worker to see if I will be a risk for alcohol abuse while I am overseas due to my DUI when I was 17. The interview is supposed to last 1-2 hours. The social worker should be contacting me sometime this week.

A Status Update

I called my placement officer again today to see if he was back from his trip. He didn't pick up so I left him another message. He called me back within 10 minutes and updated me on the status of my application. He told me that I was never nominated for the Middle East/North Africa. It may have seemed like that to my recruiter that I was nominated for that region, but I was always nominated for the Pacific Islands. The only thing holding my invitation back is to see whether or not I need to talk to a social worker regarding my DUI when I was 17. He told me once I receive a clearance for that he can go ahead and proceed with my file (Hopefully this means an invitation). I should be hearing back from the Peace Corps within the next couple of days/weeks. If I get invited I will most likely being going to one of these countries/islands:

East Timor
Fiji
Kiribati
Micronesia and Palau
Samoa
Tonga
Vanuatu
